Guttermouth, No Use For a Name, and more

I got to the Phoenix Concert Theater in Toronto very early. It was cold and rainy, and I just happend to get in under the tarp for a long wait in line. When I got in, I rushed up to the 19+ section to find my self a big comfy chair right at the railing on the balcony where I got to review the whole show. So here it goes. It was my first time hearing anything from The Eyeliners, and I thought they did an okay job. Its good to see some females showing off their punk talent.

Slick Shoes I had seen before at the Government with MxPx. They were a good band to see perform when you don't know much of their stuff. Very easy to get to like. I came to the show to see Yellowcard, No Use, and Guttermouth.

Yellowcard came out, and the violin came into their music was the greatest sound live ever. Everyone was pogo-ing all over the place. I also would like to add, Yellowcard does a great cover of Michelle Branch's Everywhere. They also played Finish Line, a song that went out to the band The Starting Line, who they previously toured with.

No Use For A Name, I have seen four or five times now. Nothing will ever compare to the first time I saw them. However, it was still a fantastic show. They opened up with just what I wanted them to open up with. The first to tracks on their latest album. Mellow and soft, then cranked right up!

Guttermouth on the other hand, I have no idea where they get their energy from. He acted like an eight year old boy who ate 5 pounds of chocolate! But it was fuckin awesome, considering Guttermouth's music and style is really fast and crazy-like. At one point, he had some sleezy girl come up on stage from the pit, and dance with him. She flaunted herself all over the stage, to the band, and to the fans. Then Guttermouth told her to get the fuck off their stage. It was pretty hallarious. If Guttermouth ever comes back, be sure to go to their show. One of the greatest bands ever to see a live performance of.
